The following policies govern your use of the BUE Service Desk. They are designed to comply with the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt (including Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020) and the United Kingdom (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), reflecting the dual regulatory context of The British University in Egypt.

Accessibility Statement

BUE is committed to making the Service Desk accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA published by the W3C, in line with the spirit of the UK Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 and the Egyptian Law No. 10 of 2018 on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

  • Keyboard navigation throughout the interface.
  • Visible focus indicators and skip links.
  • Sufficient colour contrast and dark/light themes.
  • Screen-reader-friendly semantic markup and ARIA where appropriate.
  • Bilingual interface (English / Arabic) with RTL support.

2. Known limitations

We continually test and improve. Some legacy attachments uploaded by users may not meet accessibility standards. Please contact us if you require an alternative format.
